On October 29th, San Juan High School hosted the Region 4 FCCLA Fall Meeting. Guests from other schools in the Region 4 area, including El Dorado, Placer, Nevada, Sierra, Yuba, Sutter, Colusa, Yolo, Amador, Calaveras, and students from Sac State. The Region 4 officer team had a blast setting up workshops for these future career leaders, and our culinary CTE made a fantastic lunch for this workshop-filled day.

Officers from around the region hosted workshops on public speaking, teamwork, and upcoming competition opportunities at this meeting. Two of these workshops train our members for their careers and star events, preparing them for our September Meeting at Foothill High School. Our members are ready for an eventful year.

But what does FCCLA stand for? FCCLA stands for Family Career Community Leaders of America. It strives to help our members find what they want to do for the future with family and consumer science careers and classes, including our culinary CTE classes.

If FCCLA catches your eye, you can always talk with the San Juan High schools FCCLA chapter advisor, Ms. Cox.

Feel free to join FCCLA as a member and get to know your school’s officer team. I hope to see you all out there!
